Benfica moved to V. Guimarães’ stronghold and won 3-1, thus maintaining a three-point gap to Sporting, the current leader of the National Volleyball Championship.
The Eagles even had a false start in the match and lost the first set for the home team (25-21). However, Benfica’s superiority was revealed in the following three games and it was without a hitch that the visiting team triumphed in Guimarães, with victories by 25-14, 25-22 and 25-14.
This result comes as a response to Sporting’s triumph this Friday, at Nun’Álvares (3-0), with the lions having only one defeat in 18 rounds in the competition.
