Portimonense recorded their third victory in the II Liga, in the last four games, in Penafiel, where they won 2-0 with goals from Tamble Monteiro and Welat Cagro, closing both halves of the match. Before falling behind on the scoreboard, the Douro team were reduced to nine players, due to the expulsions of Pedro Sá (5m) and Jaime Sánchez (45+6m), a situation that, naturally, ended up having an important impact on the course of the match. The Portimão team completely dominated the operations and, in addition to the two goals they scored, they hit the Penafiel goal twice, through Edney Silva (72m) and Francisco Canário (90+3m). The triumph in the 18th round of the II League allows the Portimão team to reach 22 points, two more than those added by Leixões, who this Saturday defeated Felgueiras 1-0. Paulité, in the 21st minute, scored the only goal (and what a goal!) of the game and, in the second half, suffered the foul that resulted in Gabi Pereira being sent off. Also included in the group of distressed teams in the table, Oliveirense (19 points) achieved a happy draw in Faro (0-0), in a game in which the Algarve team hit the goalposts defended by Ricardo Ribeiro four times (!). Also this Saturday, Benfica B and Desp. Chaves will face each other, at Seixal, from 6pm.
