Besiktas wants Benfica to pay Rafa's last wages, in addition to a sum of between €5 million and €6 million, to complete Rafa's transfer. This will be part of, in addition to fulfilling the obligation, a strategy to have even more room for maneuver in negotiations with the Reds, the Turkish press reveals today. Negotiations between Benfica and Besiktas continue — the Turkish media also report a meeting of the Besiktas Board of Directors to make a decision very soon — but still without white smoke. Benfica is willing to make an investment of around €5 million, an amount that will be deducted from Besiktas' debt for the transfers of Orkun Kokçu and Gedson Fernandes, respectively €25 million plus €5 million for goals and €10 million. The president of Besiktas, according to the local press, will accept a fixed €7 million, after having demanded €15 million, initially, for the 32-year-old striker. What is certain is that the clubs have approximated positions since they started talking, apart from the departure of David Jurásek (he was on loan from Benfica to the Istanbul club) to Slavia Prague. Rafa has already made it very clear that he does not want to return to play for Besiktas and through his businessman, João Araújo, he asked for a solution to be found in which neither party is harmed. This is what the clubs are working on, after initially Benfica only admitted moving towards signing the striker after the contract with Besiktas. The process, although difficult, continues to evolve favorably towards a satisfactory solution for clubs and Rafa. It is therefore expected that the deal may close in the coming days.
