The Court of Arbitration for Sport accepted the precautionary measure filed by FC Porto's SAD following the ban punishment for a game by the sectors corresponding to the blue and white club's cheer squads. It is recalled that the Disciplinary Council of the Portuguese Football Federation sanctioned FC Porto on December 12th with the temporary banning of the sectors corresponding to the cheering squads for one game and with an additional fine of 3,825 euros for the disrespect caused during the derby with Sporting in Alvalade and resulting in 17 injuries as a result of glass falling from the area where Dragons fans were. FC Porto appealed the CD's decision, and the TAD has now judged the precautionary measure that suspends the effectiveness of the decision to be valid. If the court had dismissed Porto's SAD request as unfounded, the blue and whites would have had to close the sectors usually reserved for fans in the next home game, which is against Benfica (Portuguese Cup) on January 14th. «Despite what has been said, it should be noted that the decision given in this precautionary seat does not bind this Arbitral College regarding the meaning of the decision to be taken in the main proceedings», the TAD decision also reads.
