Guimarães expressed the conviction that the next General Assembly of the Liga Portugal, scheduled for February 6, could represent “an important step forward” on the path to the sustainability of Portuguese professional football.</p> <p data-end="987" data-start="665">After, in January, the proposal that provided for the distribution of UEFA solidarity funds among clubs in the I and II League was rejected, the issue is now back to the vote. The Guimarães club guarantees, however, that it will move forward with sharing its share even if the plan fails to gather the necessary votes again.</p> <p data-end="1269" data-start="989">In a statement released by the Minho club, Vitória highlights that the clubs in the II League "had already budgeted this revenue for this season" and recalls the increased difficulties faced by those who do not have the same sources of financing as clubs in the top division.</p> <p data-end="1497" data-start="1271">In this sense, Vitória appeals to the solidarity of the remaining clubs in the I League that defend the same proposal, suggesting that they also move forward with the distribution of the respective funds, regardless of the outcome of the vote.</p> <p data-end="1789" data-start="1499">Still, in Guimarães it is believed that the plan will eventually receive approval from the required qualified majority of 75 percent.</p> <p data-end="1789" data-start="1499">«Competitions aside, clubs must fully understand that everyone will benefit if they prioritize unity and the spirit of cooperation», concludes the statement.</p> <p data-end="1789" data-start="1499">Remember, the vote was rejected at the General Club Assembly that took place on January 16th, with the proposal being one vote away from approval.</p> </div>
