Incredible end to the game in the first game this Wednesday in the African Cup of Nations (CAN): Burkina Faso, who reached 90+5m at a disadvantage, managed to turn the score around and beat Equatorial Guinea 2-1, in the first round of group E.
The first half of the game was goalless and it was necessary to wait until very close to the final whistle for the score to change. However, before that, what changed was the number of players on the field: Basilio Ndong was sent off in the 50th minute with a straight red and left Equatorial Guinea in numerical inferiority.
Even so, a goal from Marvin Anieboh, in the 85th minute, allowed Equatorial Guinea to take the lead. This is after Burkina Faso had a goal disallowed for Traoré being offside.
However, Burkina Faso, who spent just over half of the eight minutes of added time at a disadvantage, managed to equalize and turn the result around.
At 90+5m, Georgi Minoungou made it 1-1 and, at 90+8m, former Vitória de Guimarães defender, Edmond Tapsoba, made it 2-1.
Burkina Faso now has three points and Equatorial Guinea remains without a point. This afternoon the group’s first matchday ends with Algeria-Sudão.
