St. Pauli snatched a dramatic draw against Leipzig (1-1), with a penalty converted by Martijn Kaars in added time, in a game on matchday 16 that had been postponed due to bad weather conditions in northern Germany. Leipzig had taken the lead midway through the second half, through Yan Diomande, in a match in which they tried to manage the result until the end. In the second half, Marco Rose launched Harder, a former Sporting player, looking to give more depth and energy to the attack, but the team ended up punished in the final moments. With this result, St. Pauli moved one point above last-placed Heidenheim, with 15 rounds remaining until the end of the championship. Leipzig, despite the defeat in added time, rose to fourth place, the last place in the Champions League, equal on points with Stuttgart. In the other game played this Tuesday, also postponed at the beginning of the month, Hoffenheim consolidated third place with a 2-0 victory at Werder Bremen. Prass (44m) opened the scoring just before half-time with a great goal. In the second half, Burger (52m) saw a straight red card, however, it was again Hoffenheim who scored. Promel (54m) extended the advantage and secured victory in the match. Hoffenheim remains in third place with 39 points, while Werder Bremen is in 15th place, one place above the water line.
