Albacete's unprecedented home triumph over Real Madrid in the round of 16 of the Cup (3-2) brought tears to the eyes of defender Jesús Vallejo, linked to the Merengues between 2015 and 2025. In an intermittent journey, he won all the titles, but spent several loan spells (Zaragoza, Frankfurt, Wolves and Granada). Last summer he moved to Albacete and the second division on a free transfer. Even though Vallejo did not play on Wednesday night, Albacete's goals were scored by midfielder Javier Villar and striker Jefté Betancor, who came off the bench and scored twice, scoring in the 82nd and 90+4 minutes. It turns out that this duo – at different times – was part of Real Madrid's formation. This was Albacete's first victory over Real Madrid, after 15 official duels.
