After winning the visit to Sporting for the championship on Friday, Benfica defeated their rival again this Sunday, at home, in the round of 16 of the Portuguese Cup (81-50). The scores of 25-14, 23-12, 17-10 and 16-14 reflect a duel always controlled by the Eagles.
As on Friday, North American Nunn shone for Benfica, with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Among the lionesses, Luana Serranho was the most unhappy, applying 13 points.
In this way, Benfica joins CAB Madeira, CLIP, Sportiva, Quinta dos Lombos, Esgueira and Barcelos in the quarter-finals.
Benfica won the competition in 2021, 2022 and 2024, but lost the final last year, against Quinta dos Lombos.
