Fenerbahçe continues to chase leaders Galatasaray and, this Monday, won 3-1 against Genclerbirligi, in the 21st round of the Turkish League. In the debut of N'Golo Kanté, a winter reinforcement who was a starter, as well as the Portuguese Nélson Semedo, the hosts' goals were scored by two ex-Benfica players. At 16 minutes, Talisca opened the penalty spot. At 27, Kerem Aktürkoglu increased the Istanbul team's advantage, after a sensational pass from Marco Asensio. Aktürkoglu would score twice before the break, in the 33rd minute. The visitors, who had Ricardo Velho in goal and Pedro Pereira at the start, still reduced the deficit at the start of the second half, through Sekou Koita (55m). With this triumph, Fenerbahçe maintains second place, with 49 points, just three less than rival Galatasaray. Genclerbirligi, on the other hand, is ranked 11th, with 22 points. In the other games of the day, João Mendes and Miguel Cardoso were starters in Kayserispor's home defeat against Kocaelispor (2-1). Kévin Rodrigues' Gaziantep received and beat Kasimpasa (2-1).
