From record to record, FC Porto continues to impress in 2025/2026. The victory against Gil Vicente (3-0), on Monday, made Francesco Farioli the only coach in the club's history to achieve 18 victories in the first 19 rounds of the Portuguese League. The Italian had already equaled, in Guimarães, the dragons' best record so far. It belonged to the Portuguese-Hungarian Mihaly Siska, who in the distant 1939/1940 season was national champion with 17 victories in 18 games, at a time when the national championship was contested by just 10 clubs. FC Porto leads the Portuguese League with 55 points won out of 57 possible. The only game that did not win in the current edition of the competition was Classic against Benfica (0-0), at Estádio do Dragão. Furthermore, the Porto players are through to the semi-finals of the Portuguese Cup, where they will face Sporting, and will fight, on Thursday, against Rangers, to qualify directly for the round of 16 of the Europa League.
