Portugal lost in the European futsal final on Saturday, ceding the trophy to Spain, for 5-3but it takes some consolation prizes. At an individual level, two Portuguese players were chosen by UEFA technical observers for the tournament's ideal five. Bernardo Paçó, goalkeeper who was essential in the Portuguese journey (especially in the semi-final against France), is one of those chosen. Pany Varela, a winger who scored four goals and made four assists, was the other Portuguese chosen. Interestingly, Paçó plays for Sporting and Pany for Benfica. The first is 25 years old and became a father during the tournament, while the second was considered the best player in the world in the sport in 2022. The Spaniards António Pérez (top scorer), Mellado and Pablo Ramírez complete the ideal team for the tournament.
