Cameroon will face Morocco in the “quarters” of the CAN, after beating South Africa in the “eights”, by 2-1. On Sunday night, Danny Namaso – forward on loan from FC Porto to Auxerre – started for the Cameroonians. The scoring was opened in the 34th minute by winger Tchamadeu, while striker Kofane – from Bayer Leverkusen – made it 2-0 in the 47th minute. Between changes, striker Makgopa reduced the score for the South Africans, in the 88th minute, but too late to force extra time. Cameroon is the second most titled team in the CAN (1984, 1988, 2000, 2002 and 2017), two wins behind Egypt. In the “quarters” there is a duel with the hosts Morocco, scheduled for Friday (7pm), in Rabat. The competition runs until January 18th and Ivory Coast holds the trophy.
