Sporting suffered their fourth defeat in the second group stage of the FIBA Europe Cup, exhausting their chances of reaching the quarter-finals. On Wednesday night, the lions lost in the fourth round, against the title holders, the Spanish team Bilbao (90-72). The scores of 18-14, 26-14, 24-20 and 22-24 reflect a duel in which Luís Magalhães' men were far from the superb performance required to beat such an opponent. At Bilbao, Poland's Petrasek stood out with 17 points. At Sporting, North American Harden-Hayes scored 19 points, in addition to nine rebounds. Thus, the Lions are fourth and last in Group M, with four points, while Bilbao leads with eight points. In the fifth and penultimate round, on February 4th, Sporting visits PAOK – the last defeated finalist of the competition. In turn, Bilbao hosts Prievidza (3rd), on February 3rd.
