Yan Diomande took the Bundesliga by storm. After just one year at Leganés, in Spain, Diomande was signed in the summer by Leipzig, for 20 million euros, and has already scored 13 goals in 22 games. On the field, everything is fine. The worst is outside of it. According to Sky Sports, Diomande is in the middle of a legal battle between two footballer representation agencies - Maxidel Management (Ivory Coast) and Roc Nation Sports (Brazil). According to documents consulted by this newspaper, Ivorian Diomande signed a “secret agreement” with Maxidel Management, separate from the contract with Leipzig, which would be valid until the end of the contract with the German club, in 2031. The basis of this agreement is the exclusivity of a possible transfer to another club - if Diomande wants to leave, he will have to be represented by the Costa Ivorian agency. However, the player recently changed representatives (something normal in the industry). Now, it is affiliated with Roc Nation Sports, which has names like Lucas Paquetá, Gabriel Martinelli and Vinicius Júnior. The latter is especially important to the story - Vinicius was one of the actors who convinced Diomande, according to Sky Sports, to change agencies. Even musician DJ Khaled reportedly had a phone call with the player, as well as the director of the Costa Ivorian academy where Diomande was trained. Furthermore, Maxidel Management claims the player's image rights, worth seven million euros. All of this keeps potential interested parties away from the athlete, who is already considered one of the greatest values in the Bundesliga at 19 years old. The case could soon result in a legal battle between agencies, most likely filed at the international Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), in Lausanne, with potential repercussions for the world of football.
