Rafinha, brother of Thiago Alcântara, put an end to his career at the age of 32. “Thank you, football, for making me who I am. See you forever", he wrote on social media, confirming his goodbye to the pitch. “I made the decision to withdraw. Just over a year ago, I suffered a knee injury which, unfortunately, prevents me from competing at the highest level again. It was difficult to accept that I couldn't continue. Thank you to my family for always being there and to everyone for their love and support", added the Brazilian international. Trained at La Masia, Rafinha worked his way up to the Barcelona first team, which he represented on 90 occasions. He also played for Inter, Celta de Vigo, PSG, Real Sociedad and Qatari side Al Arabi, where he ended his career. Scorer of over 50 goals as a professional, he won, among other trophies, a Champions League and three Spanish Leagues, with Barcelona, and a French League, with PSG. At an international level, he helped the Brazilian Olympic team win the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016.
