Now it's official, Rui Vitória is the new coach of Al Wasl, currently fourth in the UAE league, as Maisfutebol announced at an opportune time. After starting the season at Panathinaikos, in Greece, Rui Vitória is back in the Middle East, after having already managed Al Nassr, in Saudi Arabia, from 2018 to 2021. The former Benfica coach will succeed the Swede Mesut Meral who, in turn, had succeeded Luís Castro. Al Wasl is currently in fourth place in the Emirates league, with 26 points, twelve points behind leader Al Ahli led by compatriot Paulo Sousa.
