Renan Lodi is the latest addition to Atlético Mineiro's defense. The 27-year-old full-back had been without a club since September, when he unilaterally terminated his contract with Al Hilal. This “controversy”, remember, was due to the fact that the player was only registered in the Asian Champions League. Well, about three months later Lodi found a club. Trained at Athletico Paranaense, the Brazilian international returns to Brazil after joining Atlético Madrid in 2019. He also represented clubs such as Marseille and Nottingham Forest. In the last two seasons he represented Al Hilal, where he crossed paths with Jorge Jesus and was an option in 56 matches. He won four titles: one League, one Cup and two Super Cups. Renan thus becomes «Galo»'s first reinforcement for 2026, signing a contract valid for five seasons.
