Vangelis Pavlidis surpassed Luis Suárez and Rodrigo Zalazar in the vote for best player of the month of December in the Portuguese League. The Greek striker had already won the best striker award in the same period. Pavlidis gathered a total of 21.37 percent of the votes from the competition's head coaches. He got the better of Luis Suárez (Sporting), with 16.24 percent, and Rodrigo Zalazar (Sp. Braga), who received 9.40 percent of the coaches' preference. The Greek scored four goals and one assist in the four matches played in the competition during the period under review. Against Moreirense, in a 4-0 victory, he scored a hat-trick. This is only the second time that the Benfica striker has won this distinction. The other took place in February 2025. He succeeds Francisco Trincão, winner of the November award.
