Daniel Alves is dealing with all the final documentation to be registered as a player in the next few days and, soon, return to playing for São João de Ver, in League 3, according to what the More football. The Brazilian had been sentenced to four and a half years in prison in February 2024. The complaint came from a 23-year-old woman who had been sexually raped by the athlete in the bathroom of a nightclub in Barcelona on December 31, 2022. After 14 months in preventive detention, the former player released on provisional release on March 25, 2024having previously made a bail payment of one million euros. According to the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia, the insufficiency of evidence guaranteed the revocation of the sentence and also the acquittal of Daniel, who, in turn, always denied the accusations, despite contradictory versions throughout the investigations. Since leaving prison, Daniel Alves has started to work indirectly in football, especially in Europe, almost as a businessman, but always with the idea of returning to the pitch (as a player and, subsequently, coach).
