On February 8th, in Santa Clara, California, the New England Patriots will face the Seattle Seahawks, in a reunion with a flavor of already seenten years after the 2015 final, won by the Patriots in what was the 11th and final appearance in the Super Bowl under the leadership of Tom Brady.

The Seahawks sealed their qualification by beating the Los Angeles Rams 31-27, in the National Conference final, in an intense and balanced game, played in Seattle. The home team was always ahead on the scoreboard, but only secured the triumph in the final minutes, in a match in which Sam Darnold was the great figure.

The quarterback threw for three touchdowns and accumulated 374 yards, commanding an effective and safe attack in key moments. Even so, the Rams always remained in the discussion of the result and reached the last five minutes just four points away.

The decisive play came close to the end, when Los Angeles, on fourth down and just a few yards from the testing zone, chose to risk everything instead of attempting the field goal. Matthew Stafford pitched to Terrance Ferguson in the end zonebut Devon Witherspoon deflected the pass, allowing the Seahawks to regain possession and hold on for the win.
