Not even at Christmas does Nikola Jokic give his opponents a rest in the NBA. On the Christmas day, the Serbian center scored (another) triple-double, with a monstrous 56 points, in the Denver Nuggets' victory, after extra time, against the Minnesota Timberwolves (142-138). Jokic added 16 rebounds and 15 assists on a night in which he broke two new NBA records: he is the first player to surpass 55 points, 15 rebounds and 15 assists in a single game, and the 18 points he scored in extra time are a new maximum in the competition in that period. The Nuggets needed extra time to win a game that, with about five minutes left in regulation time, they led by 15 points. Then, Anthony Edwards (44 points) entered the scene, author, among others, of the triple that took the game to extra time (115-115), with 1.1 seconds to go. The San Antonio Spurs continue to look great, who added their eighth consecutive victory in the NBA regular season with a solid victory against the best team of the season, the champions Oklahoma City Thunder, 117-102. Spurs' De'Aaron Fox was the game's top scorer (29 points), while Victor Wembanyama had a double-double (19 points and 11 rebounds). In Houston, the Rockets defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 119-96, with Kevin Durant in great form (25 points and eight assists), as well as Luka Doncic (25 points, seven assists and rebounds) in the LA team. Stephen Curry scored 23 points in the Golden State Warriors' triumph over the Dallas Mavericks (126-116), in a day in which the New York Knicks beat the Cleveland Cavaliers (126-124) at Madison Square Garden in a match in which they recovered from a 17-point deficit in the fourth quarter. Jalen Brunson (34 points) and Jordan Clarkson (25) were the Knicks' figures, but the MVP of the match was Donovan Mitchell, from the Cavaliers (34 points, seven rebounds and six assists).
