My father was a fun guy, very creative, a great drawer, who made several drawings for me, mainly of comic book superheroes, such as Batman, Superman, Captain America, Spider-Man and so on. But football and Corinthians were his biggest passions, and it was with him that I went to a football stadium for the first time. It was at Fazendinha, in Parque São Jorge, to watch Corinthians x Ponte Preta, which was the return of Rivellino and Ado, after being three-time champions in Mexico in 1970. From then on, he took me to several games until 1977, because from 1978 onwards I started to play some preliminaries.

Of course, not everything was rosy, because there was the problem of alcoholism that got in the way of many great moments, but my memories are much more about fun. He was super proud when I debuted at Corinthians, mainly because it was a spectacular debut, scoring four goals. I imagine your happiness when you see your son wearing the shirt of the team that the whole family supported.

He was a great storyteller, and I loved listening to them. Well, every December 25th, I used to take him to lunch at Cantina Lellis Trattoria, on Rua Bela Cintra, here in São Paulo, which he loved, especially after my mother passed away in 2015. In 2019, we went there, like every year, with my children, and it was the most fun Christmas in recent years, because he was great, having fun, talking to everyone, and you could see that he was very happy at that moment in his life.

However, on 12/28, while taking a shower, he had a massive stroke (stroke) that left severe consequences. But, slowly, it was evolving until the pandemic arrived, and at least we could visit it. In the middle of all this, he caught Covid and was hospitalized, and he never left. He went to meet my mother, with whom he was married for more than 50 years, having, in addition to me, two daughters (Zildinha and Zenaide).

Obviously, Christmas brings me very fond memories of my childhood, but it also makes me miss my father. Just explaining that it doesn't bring me sadness, but a longing for the different moments we had together, especially when I was just the boy Waltinho, the son of Mr. Walter (Geléia).

!function(f,b,e,v,n,t,s) {if(f.fbq)return;n=f.fbq=function() {n.callMethod? n.callMethod.apply(n,arguments):n.queue.push(arguments)}; if(!f._fbq)f._fbq=n;n.push=n;n.loaded=!0;n.version='2.0'; n.queue=[];t=b.createElement(e);t.async=!0; t.src=v;s=b.getElementsByTagName(e)[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(t,s)}(window, document,'script', 'https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/fbevents.js'); fbq('init', '291767061033177'); fbq('track', 'PageView', { content_name: 'Feliz Natal para todos e parabéns ao Sr. Walter.
