Sporting de Braga goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek was elected goalkeeper of the month for January in the Portuguese League, the organization announced late this Monday morning.
The Czech gained 26.72 percent of the votes of the League’s head coaches, making his debut in this season’s awards.
Hornicek, 23 years old, overcame competition from Diogo Costa (FC Porto), who received 19.83 percent of the votes, as well as Bernardo (CD Tondela), who received 16.38 percent of the votes, according to League data.
