The Portuguese futsal team is in the quarter-finals of the European Championship! After the defeat to Hungary (5-1) and given Italy’s victory over Poland (4-0), Portugal secured first place in Group D.
Italy, who had lost to the National Team in the first round, won the first points in the competition against the Poles and thus qualified Portugal first.
Júlio de Oliveira (3, 13 and 33m) and Matheus Barichello (15m) scored the goals for the Transalpine team.
Portugal remains with six points and cannot be overtaken in the last round, because Italy and Hungary, with three, face each other and lose in a direct confrontation with the Portuguese, while Poland – which faces Portugal in the last round – is last, without any points, already eliminated.
In the quarter-finals, Portugal, who joined Armenia, already knows that they will find, on Sunday, second in Group C: Spain is leader, with six points, ahead of Slovenia and Belgium, both with three, and Belarus, with no points.
