This Sunday, Roma returned to winning ways in the Italian League, beating Genoa de Vitinha (formerly Sp. Braga) 3-1, at the Olympic Stadium, in the 17th round of Serie A, regaining fourth place in the standings, the last place to access the Champions League. After four rounds without winning, with three defeats, the most recent against Juventus (2-1), the Roman team resolved the match early. At half an hour they were already leading 3-0, in an overwhelming start that gave back confidence to the fans. Matías Soulé opened the scoring in the 14th minute, with a left-footed shot, taking advantage of a poor clearance from the Genoa defense. Five minutes later, Manu Koné doubled the lead, scoring the first goal of the season, with a shot that was deflected. The third came in the 31st minute, when Ruslan Malinovskyi missed a delay in the forbidden zone and offered the goal to Ferguson. In the second half, Roma slowed down and managed the advantage, allowing Genoa, who had the Portuguese Vitinha in the starting eleven, to score the goal of honor towards the end, by Jeff Ekhator, in the 87th minute. With this triumph, the Romans now have 33 points and resume fourth place, surpassing Juventus, who have 32. Serie A is led by Inter, with 36 points, followed by AC Milan (35) and Napoli (34), all with less than one game played. Genoa, in turn, remains in 17th place, with 14 points, just two above the relegation zone.
