The first leg of the WSE Cup quarterfinals revealed different fortunes for the Portuguese teams in the competition. This Saturday, Riba D'Ave won against the Italians at Monza, 4-3 (3-1 and 1-2). The second leg, in Italy, is scheduled for 8pm on February 7th. Also on national soil, Sanjoanense lost to the Spanish side Lleida, in a duel that only featured goals in the second half (4-2). The hosts were ahead (1-0 and 2-1), but conceded four goals in the last ten minutes. The decisive duel is scheduled for 7:30 pm on February 7th. In Spain, Hóquei de Braga lost 1-0 at Calafell, with the goal undone by a penalty converted in the 40th minute. The second round, in Braga, will be played at 6 pm on February 7th. Finally, Juventude Pacense lost 6-5 – 3-1 and 3-4 – against the Catalans of Caldes. The second leg is scheduled for 5:30 pm on February 7th. The WSE Cup has been dominated by Spanish teams since 2018. Previously, Óquei de Barcelos (2017 and 2016) and Sporting (2015) were the protagonists of the most recent Portuguese achievements.
