André Luiz, formerly of Rio Ave, played a decisive role in his debut for Olympiakos, winning the penalty that allowed, in added time, a draw (1-1) against AEK, in a game on the 19th round of the Greek championship. Filipe Relvas started for the hosts in the Athens derby and João Mário only came on in the second half. On the outsiders' side, Costinha, Chiquinho and Daniel Podence were part of the eleven, with Gelson Martins coming off the bench, while Diogo Nascimento and Rúben Vezo were not used. Around the hour mark, AEK took the lead, with a goal from Hungarian international Barnabás Varga. However, launched in the 71st minute, André Luiz was brought down in the opponent's area during added time and won a penalty, thanks to the help of VAR. On the charge, in the 16th minute of compensation, former FC Porto Mehdi Taremi did not forgive. Despite this draw, AEK remains leader, with 45 points, but could be overtaken by PAOK, who has 44, but one game less. Olympiakos is third, with 43 points.
