The rise of the visitors and some difficulties for Estoril to reach André Gomes' area with danger. A definition of the first 45 minutes that could have ended here, if it weren't for Ian Cathro's team to turn the theory around with two quick goals. The second half was no different, with Begraoui shining in front of goal and Meupiyou on a night to forget. Two very unfortunate own goals from the French central defender and which mirror practically Alverca's entire performance in the match. RECALL THE FILM OF THIS MEETING HERE. A cold and rainy night fell on the António Coimbra da Mota Stadium and only the toughest were present in the stands. When it comes to the game, it started somewhat timidly, with both teams trying to keep the ball in the opponent's midfield. The first real dangerous move came in the 13th minute, when Lincoln had time and space to target Joel Robles' goal and did so, with a shot from outside the area. It was worth the goalkeeper's attention to avoid what would have been a beautiful goal from the former Santa Clara player. This moment served Alverca to take control of the game, especially when it came to possession of the ball. Shortly afterwards, the same Lincoln discovered Chissumba's ascent in a sublime way and the winger was close to being happy. He took Pedro Carvalho out of the way, pulled to his worst foot and the ball went too high. However, this slight dominance by Alverca did not result in a goal (at least scored). After half an hour of play, João Carvalho completed a botched move very happily. The shot takes a deflection off Meupiyou and betrays André Gomes, who was unable to do anything to prevent the 1-0. On the bench, Custódio could only watch what was happening on the four lines and the news that arrived was not the best. Just before half-time, a new rebound put Begraoui in front of goal and the team's top scorer didn't stand by. A subtle touch resulted in the second for the Canarian team, which was with a more comfortable advantage for the locker room. Now, the return to the pitch brought Estoril with maximum effectiveness, similar to what had happened until then. An excellent collective move gave Begraoui everything he needed to score a double and the Moroccan didn't waste it. The ball even kissed the post before entering the goal, to the delight of the approximately two thousand spectators in the stands. In between, note the departure of Marezi (due to injury), who was only on the field for 16 minutes. But the night wasn't really for Meupiyou and bad luck never comes alone. In an attempt to cover Begraoui, the young defender made a move and deflected Pedro Amaral's cross into the back of the goal, further complicating Alverca's score. Custódio was only worth a moment of frank inspiration from Alex Amorim, who received the ball in midfield, went out there and scored a goal that would lift any stadium. This is the second time that Estoril has won a streak of two consecutive games and could end 2025 just six points behind Europe. Alverca has their third consecutive defeat in the League. A Figura: Lives The team's top scorer showed his service again, in a first half that was marked by two goals in two shots framed by André Gomes' goal. Inside the area he made it 2-0 for Estoril and started the second half in the best way, with another one for his personal account. In total, Begraoui has already scored nine goals in the first 16 rounds of the League. The Moment: Meupiyou's unhappiness(ies) At a time when Alverca demonstrated greater ability to reach Joel Robles' goal with danger, João Carvalho scored. Through a shot from outside the area, the ball ends up being deflected by the young French central defender and deceiving André Gomes. In the second half, a cross from Pedro Carvalho hits Meupiyou's leg and enters (unfortunately) the Alverca goal. Positive: Alverca in the first half The result may give signs of a one-way game, but what is certain is that Estoril's effectiveness contributed and in what way to the construction of the 4-1 that was recorded at Fábio Veríssimo's final whistle. Note for the first 35 minutes for Alverca, who seemed to have the game under control until they fell behind on the scoreboard. From then on, Custódio’s team never “straightened up” again…
