It was with a resounding 4-0 at the home of “red bottom” Al Bataeh that Paulo Sousa's Al Ahli Dubai recorded their fourth consecutive victory in the UAE League, a result that allows them to overtake, in third place, Al Wasl, who drew this Wednesday with Ittihad Kalba (2-2). Al Ahli resolved the game against Al Bataeh in the first half, during which they scored three times, most notably Mateus Lima's double. To open the second half, Yahya Al Ghassani closed the score of the game, despite the ball thrown at the Al Ahli goal post, in the 88th minute, by the Italian Daniel Bessa. The 4-0 victory allows the team coached by Paulo Sousa to isolate themselves in third place in the Emirati League with 23 points, one more than Al Wasl, who, with the Portuguese Pedro Malheiro in the starting eleven, wasted two advantages against Ittihad Kalba in a game that ended in a draw (2-2). Serginho (ex-Benfica, Oliveirense and Estoril) opened the scoring at the beginning of the second half, Ali Saleh also scored for Al Wasl, but Shahriyar Moghanlou, who came on in the 57th minute for Ittihad Kalba, responded to both goals with a brace. The UAE League is led by Al Ain, with 27 points, followed by Al Wahda, led by Portuguese Dimas, who has 24 points.
