Tiago Dantas' fourth goal of the season was worthy of framing, a technical gesture to boast about for many years. On Saturday afternoon, in a duel on the 19th round of the Croatian championship, the Rijeka midfielder scored a superb treble, equalizing the reception against Slaven in the 85th minute (2-2). Equality would prevail, but the ex-Benfica man's third goal in the championship went viral around the world. Trained at the Eagles and a youth international for Portugal, the 25-year-old midfielder played for Bayern Munich, Tondela, PAOK and AZ Alkmaar, before signing for Croatian side Osijek in 2024. Last summer he strengthened Rijeka, registering six assists and four goals in 29 games. Rijeka – defending champions – is third, with 28 points, 10 behind leader D. Zagreb. Dantas' team also competes in the Conference League, preparing the play-off to access the round of 16, a round in which they will face the Greeks of Omonia.
